-The Most Important Hub of the Country’s Economy
The seventh Fieldbus and modern Technologies was held in Tehran under the supervision of modern technologies and engineering Instrument and control products Association and was supported by National Iranian Petrochemical Company.
The first Fieldbus International Exhibition was held in 2000 by the secretariat of Fieldbus International Exhibition and as the result of positive response from foreign and local companies it was planned to be held in the future.
In this regard the exhibition is held annually with the presence of responsible authorities and also different specialized seminars are held during the fair.
The seventh Fieldbus exhibition was held with the cooperation of twelve Iranian and five foreign companies. Engineer Abdol Hossein Bayat, Deputy of Oil Minister and Director General of NPC inaugurated the exhibition and delivered speech in the opening ceremony.
He insisted that one of the important factors in reducing industrial risks and increasing industrial exploitation is to utilize automation and control system equipments. He explained that automation and Fieldbus systems decrease energy consumption reduce human and environmental risks and also augmenting the quality and quantity of industrial products. The measure of automation and control systems utilization in industry is one of the major indications of industrial development. The statistics show that the most powerful industrial countries are the most producing and also consuming the advanced control and Fieldbus mobilization in the world. Referring fieldbus international exhibition he added that: this exhibition is one of the main connective society between producers of controlling and automation systems especially in the field of oil, gas and petrochemical industry and other Iranian companies and engineers.
He concluded that for developing fieldbus system in different sectors of industry we need the support of different associations and ministries such as Ministry of Industry and Mines, power, Jihad Agriculture and etc. In this regard Oil Ministry is forerunner in this case and this exhibition is supported by NPC.
The aim of seventh Fieldbus International Exhibition was introduce:
· New instrumentation and control products.
· Fieldbus technologies such as HSE, Profinet and IDA.
· Advancements in the field of industrial networking such as new intrinsic safety concepts, redundancy, diagnostics features and device internet connectivity.
· Higher level (ERP, SCM and etc.) connectivity control and automation systems.
· Communication technologies (e.g. switching hubs, wireless industrial connectivity.)
· Asset management tools.
· Plant historian and historical data client/server software.
· Alarm and event management software and tools.
· Batch control software and tools.
· HMI software execution systems software.
· Product life cycle management software and tools.

Notwithstanding all the emphasis and continuous follow-up by the Iran Petroleum
Institute during the past fifteen years, unfortunately, the irrational trend of the increase in energy wastage, particularly in the public sector and its affiliated establishments continues. This is a matter of great concern.
